Beachdown Festival 2008

2008 saw the first and last Beachdown Festival. Set in the Sussex Downs just outside of Brighton and overlooking the sea. A festival with a huge amount of promise, but without the muscle to ride out the economic down-turn.

We were approached by the organisers to create the 2008 campaign. We knew that whatever we created it had to be versatile and robust enough to be promoted heavily for six months (we designed over fifty individual items). It also had to look like a serious contender to the already hugely competitive festival circuit.

We commissioned the illustrator Steve Wilson to create a sun that was to be the focal point of the campaign. Full of energy, the colourful sun expressed both the kaleidoscopic mix of artists and entertainment. It didn’t stop the rain though.
